The Gospel of John, The Period of Conference, Conference With the Disciples, Part XXV, John 14:16-18 - Lesson 133
Read Verses John 14:16,17, for review: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Jesus Christ equips his own for the work of Christ.
He says "Ask in my name."
Keep my commandments.
These are your marching orders.
You are to do the work within the confines of my commandments.
And I will give you another helper.
This helper I send will minister from within.
This helper will guide you into all truth!
This is a mark of those who follow me.
John records under the inspiration of this same Spirit of Truth, the word of:
1 John 4:6, We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Those who are led by the Spirit of Truth seek truth!
Those who are led by the Spirit of Truth love truth.
They want truth and not error!
They know with Zechariah as he recorded in his prophesy, verse 6 of chapter 4, that truth is conveyed "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
Truth is not conveyed by intelligence or education, but by the Spirit of Truth!
The more you love Christ the more you want truth and the more you desire the leadership of the Spirit of Truth!
Without the leadership of the Spirit of Truth even the words of Christ are dead.
But only through the Spirit of Truth the words of Christ give life to us.
The world does not know the Spirit of Truth nor does the world wish to know the Spirit of Truth.
Because the world is guided by the spirit of error as the world serves the father of lies, the father of error, Satan, the Wicked, the Lie!
You only have capability to know truth if you are born of the Spirit of Truth, the conveyor of Truth!
John 14:18, I will not leave you comfortless (orphanos, or‑fan‑os i.e. parentless:‑‑comfortless, fatherless:) I will come to you.
I will continue to care for you.
I will not leave you orphans, or fatherless, I will come to you.
I will not leave you as sheep without a shepherd.
I will be with you at my resurrection, I will be daily with you in my Spirit.
I will come to take you to my Father's house that where I am there shall you also be.
I will be a constant empowering presence in your life!
Mat 28:20, .... lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. |
